Terms of Use

Connected WiFi Info

Effective date:

Last updated:

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Aivio Apps that governs your use of Connected WiFi Info (the "App"), an Android application. When you first open the App you are shown a short summary of these Terms and asked to accept them. This document is the full version, and it is the binding one. By accepting, or by installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you decline or do not agree, do not use the App; if you decline in the App, it closes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law of your country requires a higher age to use apps like this one without parental consent. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the App only with the permission of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms. You must also be legally able to enter into a binding agreement.

3. What the App does

The App shows information about the Wi-Fi network your Android device is connected to and about your connection. It can monitor signal strength and connectivity, scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks and analyse channel use, run an Internet test, a ping test, a speed test and a step-by-step network troubleshooter, keep a history and statistics of your connections on your device, send notifications, and build a Diagnostic Report you can share. Which details are available depends on your device, your Android version and the permissions you grant.

4. Licence

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on Android devices that you own or control, for your own lawful purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

5. Acceptable use

You agree that you will:

  • use the App in compliance with all applicable laws and with the Google Play Terms of Service;
  • use the scanner, the tests and the information the App shows only on networks and devices that you own or are allowed to use or manage;
  • keep your device secure and up to date.

You agree that you will not:

  • use the App, or information obtained through it, to gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any network, device or data, or to disrupt, overload or interfere with a network or service;
  • use the App for stalking, surveillance, tracking of other people or places, or any unlawful purpose;
  • copy, modify, translate, decompile, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the App, except to the extent that the law expressly allows despite this restriction;
  • remove or alter any notices, branding or ad-related components of the App, or block or tamper with the ads it shows;
  • use bots, scripts or other means to generate false ad impressions or clicks, or otherwise interfere with advertising shown in the App;
  • use the speed or ping tests in a way that places an unreasonable load on the services they contact;
  • sell, rent, lease, sublicense or redistribute the App, or publish it on another store or site without our written permission.

6. Permissions, notifications and background monitoring

The App needs certain Android permissions to work, including permission to read Wi-Fi and network state and, because of how Android works, location or nearby-devices permission before Android reveals the Wi-Fi network name or allows a scan. The App does not read your location. You decide whether to grant permissions and can change your decision in your device settings. Some features may not work if you deny a permission.

Background monitoring and notifications are optional and off or limited by default. If you turn on background monitoring, the App keeps running with an ongoing notification, which uses additional battery. Battery-saving features on your device may still stop it. How information is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Tests, data use and costs

The Internet test, ping test, speed test and troubleshooter send data over your connection. A speed test downloads about 25 MB and uploads about 8 MB each time you run it. If your connection is metered or limited, your provider may charge you for this, and you are responsible for those charges. The App asks you to confirm before a speed test unless you turn that confirmation off in Settings. Tests contact third-party servers, as described in the Privacy Policy, and can be affected by their availability, by your network and by your provider's policies.

8. Accuracy of information

The App relies on information provided by Android, by your device hardware and by the network you are connected to. Readings such as signal strength, speed, latency, channel use and the suggestions from the troubleshooter are indicative. They may be incomplete, delayed, hidden by Android, or inaccurate, and they can differ between devices and Android versions. The App is an informational tool. It is not a security audit tool, a guarantee of how your network will perform, or a professional service, and you should not rely on it as the only basis for decisions about network security, safety or business operations.

9. Reports and sharing

The Diagnostic Report and shared results can contain identifiers such as your network name, BSSID and IP addresses. You decide whether and with whom to share them. You are responsible for reviewing a report before you share it, and we are not responsible for what the recipient does with it.

10. Advertising

The App is free and is supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob, including banner ads and full-screen ads shown after you finish a test, troubleshooter run or scan. Ads are supplied by third parties. We do not control their content and do not endorse any advertiser, product or service. Any dealings you have with advertisers are solely between you and them. How ad-related data is handled, and how you can manage your choices, is explained in the Privacy Policy.

11. Third-party services

The App relies on or connects to third-party services, including Android, Google Play, Google AdMob, Google's consent and rating services, Google's connectivity check and Cloudflare's speed test. They are governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

12. Intellectual property

The App, including its name, logo, design, code and content, is owned by Aivio Apps or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. The App includes open-source and third-party components that are licensed under their own terms, which are listed in the App. Android and Google Play are trademarks of Google LLC. Other names belong to their respective owners.

13. Feedback and support

You can contact us from Help & support in the App. If you send us suggestions, ideas or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction and without owing you any payment or credit. Please do not include confidential or personal information in your message. We have no obligation to provide support, but we will try to respond.

14. Updates and changes to the App

We may update, change, suspend or discontinue the App or any feature at any time, with or without notice. Updates may be delivered through Google Play, and some may be needed for the App to keep working. If we change these Terms or the Privacy Policy in a way that needs your agreement, the App will ask you to accept the new version.

15. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your right to use the App if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or for security or technical reasons. When your right to use the App ends, you must stop using it and uninstall it. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including Intellectual property, Disclaimer of warranties, Limitation of liability, Indemnity, Disputes and General, will continue to apply.

16. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or compatible with every device, that monitoring and alerts will run without interruption, or that the information it displays will be complete or accurate.

17. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Aivio Apps and its owners, contributors and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill or business, or for any data charges, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims related to the App will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the App (which is zero for a free App) and 10 US dollars.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your mandatory consumer rights in the country where you live.

18. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aivio Apps from claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful use of the App, or your use of the App or its information to access, scan without permission or interfere with a network you were not allowed to use. This section does not apply to the extent it conflicts with mandatory consumer protection law where you live.

19. Disputes

These Terms are interpreted under the law that applies to you where you live, including any mandatory consumer protections, and nothing in these Terms limits your right to bring a claim in the courts of your country of residence.

Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact us at Aivio.Apps@hotmail.com so that we can try to resolve the issue informally.

20. General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the App.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • No waiver. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours as part of a sale, merger or reorganisation, or to an affiliate.
  • Google Play. Your use of the App is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the App.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the latest revision. If a change is significant, the App will ask you to accept the new version, and we will highlight it on the page where these Terms are published. If you continue to use the App after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App.
